The Alliance for Sustainable Schools is a non-profit organization working with members and partners to address systems-level sustainability challenges in school uniforms, school food, school buses and school buildings.
We are building a highly connected network of schools committed to sustainability including heads of school, sustainability practitioners and students, and harnessing our collective influence in the service of sustainable schools everywhere.
We are engaging with school uniform suppliers, food service providers, bus companies and architects to transform the sustainability of their products and services to schools.
Together with our member schools and strategic partners, we are changing mindsets about what’s possible by demonstrating sustainable alternatives for school uniforms, school food, school buses and school buildings.
Our projects are replicable and their impact scaleable. Our vision is that all schools everywhere have sustainable school uniforms, sustainable school food, sustainable school buses and sustainable school buildings.
The Charter is our members’ promise to each other and to their students, to operate according to a set of guiding principles related to sustainability. Heads of School sign the Charter when they join The Alliance as an expression of their commitment to prioritize sustainability in their operations and decision-making. The Charter’s eight pledges are represented by the leaves of the flower below.
