Sustainability at
Al Ain British Academy
Located in Al Ain, Al Ain British Academy (AABA) educates around 1,100 students from Foundation Stage to Sixth Form and is committed to embedding sustainability, conservation, and global citizenship throughout school life. Through student leadership and whole-school engagement, our sustainability efforts focus on responsible consumption and environmental stewardship through practical, measurable action:
Student voice is central to sustainability at AABA. Learners regularly share environmental messages through the AABA Student Podcast and collaborate with organisations such as Voices of Future Generations Arabia to raise awareness beyond the school community.
In 2026, AABA’s commitment to environmental stewardship was recognised through a range of external achievements, including earning 5 out of 5 Green Stars in the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi Sustainable Schools Initiative and achieving Outstanding ratings for both Citizenship and Conservation within the ADEK National Identity Mark framework.
As a Founding Member of The Alliance for Sustainable Schools (TASS), AABA continues to strengthen partnerships, expand student-led sustainability initiatives, and create meaningful opportunities for young people to lead positive environmental action.
