Hosting Sustainability Events – A Guide for Students

Over the past five years, TASS and Metanoia have had the privilege of co-hosting numerous sustainability-focused events with school students.

In doing so, students are able to deepen their sustainability knowledge and gain event-planning know-how while developing confidence, leadership, teamwork and project management skills.

Our Sustainability Events Guide distills everything we’ve learned about hosting events into a practical roadmap that students can use to plan more efficiently, avoid common pitfalls, and spend more time on creativity and impact.

One section we’d especially like to highlight focuses on making events sustainable — from sustainable food, waste reduction, and recycling, to avoiding unnecessary merchandise and offsetting travel emissions. By embedding sustainability into both the content and the operations of your event, you can ensure it walks the talk.

We hope teachers and students find this to be a useful resource, and look forward to supporting many more sustainability events in the coming years. Access the guide here.
