The Third Virtual Student Ambassador Meet Up
On the 14th of May 2023, we held our third TASS Student Ambassador meet-up with students from 20 schools representing 9 countries across Asia and the Middle East – including China, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia and the UAE!
It was great meeting some of these students for the first time and hearing all about the impactful initiatives taking place at their schools in regards to sustainability.
Following on the excitement from the recent student-led Sustainable School Food Summit – we invited Jade, TASS ambassador from Chinese International School and one of the student organisers, to speak with the other ambassadors about what transpired on the day and her learnings from the event. Watch her video here. Everyone was thrilled with chef’s low-carbon dishes – we can’t wait to roll these out at 50 schools in Hong Kong starting next academic year!
The summit recap was followed by a general discussion on sustainable school food, where students shared their perspectives on the food provided at their schools with each other.
During the virtual meet-up, we also took a closer look at the Sustainable Schools Charter to give the ambassadors a deeper understanding of the commitment their schools have made to work together for a sustainable future.
Now, the ambassadors will be working with their teachers and leadership team to evaluate how their school is living up to the principles of the Charter.
We look forward to seeing their report cards!
