Member Schools Take Action to Reduce Their Carbon Footprint

In the past 6 months, TASS convened senior leaders from more than 50 schools in Hong Kong and the UAE for a briefing about the climate crisis and what schools can do to act.

During those events, principals made commitments to take one or more actions to reduce their schools’ carbon footprint. Here are some updates on how those schools are following through…

Principals’ Breakfast – Hong Kong, November 2025

15 students from King George V School, West Island School, Island School, and South Island School completed Metanoia’s carbon literacy course in February. They now understand the science better, recognise the carbon impact of their everyday choices and have greater confidence to lead change in their personal lives and their school communities.

Principals’ Conference – Dubai, January 2026

Al Ain British Academy is in the process of purchasing a Smart Indoor Garden by Plantaform to educate students on sustainable food growing practices.

Dwight School Dubai is working with TASS Student Ambassadors to pilot low-carbon biodiesel in its school buses and is speaking with solar providers to reduce the school’s carbon emissions from transport and energy.

We look forward to working with our members to support them in their commitments.
