The British School Al Khubairat (BSAK) is proud to announce a collaborative partnership with The Alliance for Sustainable Schools, dedicated to cultivating a truly sustainable school environment for current and future generations. Sustainability is woven into the fabric of our community, demonstrated through several successful student-led initiatives that mirror national efforts towards a circular economy.

These include the Eco-Closet offering pre-loved school uniforms, and our vibrant Clothing Swap events which promote textile reuse. Furthermore, our dedicated groups—the younger M.A.D. (Make a Difference) club and the Global Leaders group—have firmly established our commitment. To broaden student impact, we are introducing new House Sustainability Leaders who will champion school-wide sustainable practices and house competitions, such as the ‘Save the Light Switch’ design competition, which encourages pupils and staff to be mindful of turning off classroom lights.

Through the Alliance, we will also strengthen our focus on marine conservation, raising awareness of sustainable practices to protect the vital sea life and coastal ecosystems of the UAE, supporting major Abu Dhabi projects such as the UN-recognized Restoration of Coastal and Marine Ecosystems.

This partnership will leverage the combined energy and vision of BSAK’s student-led programs and TASS’s commitment to ensure we not only meet our environmental goals but also solidify our school as a leading hub for sustainability innovation and responsible action in the region.
