“We must prepare students for a future we can neither describe nor predict” – David Warlick.
At CIS Dubai, we are committed to creating environmentally responsible, financially literate, well-rounded, global citizens who are armed with the knowledge, skills and experiences to be able to thrive in the ever-changing world of tomorrow. We fully recognise the importance of our role as educators in providing our students with the skills, education and awareness, necessary to live, lead and promote environmentally sustainable life choices.
The school’s vision, development plan and roadmap are all linked and based around the six strategic pillars which include: Environment, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Connect, Well-being, and Academics.
CIS Dubai regularly engages with all stakeholders: students, parents and teachers to organise and take part in community action events from recycling drives to beach clean-ups to plantations days to sustainability awareness programmes. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are mapped and aligned with curriculum strands and themes that students access.
The school’s Eco-Council meet regularly and engage with the whole student body to lead on a range of initiatives, most recently designing and helping to assemble the CIS garden which grows over 8 types of fruits/vegetables, which once ripened, are given to the school’s support staff to consume.
