Chinese International School Signs The Sustainable Schools Charter

We are excited to welcome Chinese International School (CIS) as a Founding Member of The Alliance!

Pictured below is the Head of School, Sean Lynch, signing the Sustainable Schools Charter in the presence of Sustainability Coordinators Victoria Astle and Matthew Caplin, as well as student leaders from the sustainability group ‘DITO’ and the Primary Green Team.

CIS holds sustainability as a core value and is committed to upholding sustainable practices and educating students to work towards a sustainable future. The school recently launched a mandatory busing policy to reduce traffic and emissions, and is taking the opportunity of a rennovation to install 150 kW of solar on the facade of several existing buildings.

In addition, as part of of its recently announced long term strategic plan, the school has commited to becoming carbon neutral and zero waste. TASS is an international community of practice for sustainability in schools whose members share a commitment to the principles of the Sustainable Schools Charter.
